Coop Switzerland is one of the largest retail and wholesale companies in Switzerland – with 2.5 million cooperative members, a broad branch network and one of the most complex condition landscapes in the European food retail sector.

Initial situation & objective

As a gicom customer since 2017, Coop Switzerland was confronted with the question early on: How can existing agreement management be transferred to a sustainable SAP S/4HANA landscape – and this as a first mover in the S/4HANA private cloud? The goal was clear: a complete end-to-end agreement management that seamlessly connects negotiation, documentation, settlement and reporting.

Solution: gicom as an architecture and implementation partner

gicom assumed primary responsibility for architecture and implementation of the SAP Condition Contract Settlement at Coop Switzerland. The focus was on the complete integration of SAP CCM into the S/4HANA Private Cloud (RISE with SAP) – including all interface requirements, process adjustments and the necessary change management for the departments.

The migration from the previous SAP ECC environment to the private cloud took place seamlessly and without interruption of the ongoing billing processes. gicom brought not only technical know-how, but also the technical depth that is indispensable for a company of this complexity.

Results & strategic positioning

Coop Switzerland is today one of the most advanced SAP CCM users in the European retail market – with a fully automated settlement process, real-time transparency across all conditioning agreements and a stable basis for further digitization. The partnership with gicom has been active since 2017 and is continuously being expanded.
