The Cordes & Graefe Group is one of the leading wholesale companies in the building services industry – with over 15 countries, numerous sales lines and one of the most complex condition landscapes in the European wholesale market.

Initial situation & challenge

Prior to the project with gicom, supplier contracts, conditions and supplementary agreements were managed decentralized, manually and in heterogeneous systems. With the start of the SAP-S/4HANA implementation, it became clear that the complexity of the condition landscape – thousands of supplier contracts with a wide range of condition models – requires a specialized solution that goes beyond the SAP standard.

Solution & Project Approach

gicom accompanied the Cordes & Graefe Group from the concept phase to the go-live with a structured implementation approach. The focus was on the system-supported digitization of the supplier negotiation: Since then, all agreements have been documented centrally, structured and comprehensibly in the gicom agreement management – fully integrated into the S/4HANA environment.

More than 7,000 supplier contracts have been digitized and transferred to the new process. The worldwide rollout across 15 countries was gradual – with a clear rollout strategy, local adaptation and continuous support by the gicom team.

Results & ongoing partnership

Since 2019, gicom has been an ongoing partner of the Cordes & Graefe Group. The project is not a completed introductory project, but a lively partnership: follow-up projects, ongoing roll-outs in other countries, new requirements and continuous further development of the system are part of the everyday life of cooperation.
